The 321 Stainless Steel Round Bar could be employed in pure phosphoric acid solutions at lower temperatures. Corrosive chemicals such as chloride or fluoride free caustic solutions have no effect on the SS 321 Rod at moderate temperatures. Though the alloy has decent corrosion resistance properties, the ASTM A276 type 321 SS Bar does not operate adequately in chloride solutions, even if the alloy has been exposed to small concentrations, or in sulfuric acid applications.
